Talking Cards – The Four of Cups.
I had an inspiring chat on the phone with a horsy friend this morning. Our travel plans were scuppered by the snow and ice. We pulled a card instead.
The main message was that today was to be about the inward journey, to nurture our senses in simple ways, to allow more ease and flow.
We were to not travel but to be sense-able! To listen to the senses, to the body, to integrate and meditate and listen to the universe within, like a child listening to the ocean with a shell pressed up to the ear.
We are made mainly of water. When the senses intergrate flow emerges. Flow is the awakening of the forgotten sixth sense our movement awareness -kinaesthesia, which when integrated is blissful – a knowing that we are the flow.
Flow is not something that is imposed from the outside or dependent on money or success or what other folk think, but an inside job!
At this time of year when folk are thinking hard about resolutions, being sold self improvement and setting intentions about creating success for the year ahead, this card asks you to be counter intuitive. To not plan but to feel. Feel the flow. It’s already here!
That need for so called ‘self improvement’ that folk think will bring happiness or stability (as symbolised by the four), is to be found when we accept ourselves as made of love. Flow is not stable or rigid, it is moving with life force and flowing with the rhythms of nature.
How we feel determines how life flows.
In horsy terms good riders and folk with good horsemanship are described as having ‘feel!’
How do you feel?
If Wishes Were Horses Tarot is available to pre-order. This is a limited first edition. If you are interested here is a link. I will be sending out at the end of January as soon as stocks arrive. I can’t wait to post them out.

Ps – the four of cups also suggested to me this morning that I might like to write a book to accompany the new tarot deck. A piece of writing flowed out of me, that I lost. I am now rewriting it not nearly so well, but the losing of it made me realised how much I had enjoyed writing it. So, it feels like a bit of an epiphany moment even having this thought! I guess I will just have to go with the flow and see what emerges.
Thanks again to everyone who has pre-ordered so far. I am very grateful xx
